A leader cannot transition to transformational leadership, unless he connects with his team members who work relentlessly to make growth a reality. To bolster this belief, I frequently connect with my valued employees on a personal level. When I logged into the podcast, I could already see Yugal, Diksha, and Arti eager to join in the conversation; their faces beaming with energy and enthusiasm!
Looking at Yugal, I was reminded of his journey. Four years ago, he joined IT By Design as a subject matter expert in help desk support—talented, ambitious, but unsure of where his career would take him. Today, he’s not just any employee but a highly impactful team member driving success.
But before we got into the agenda, I set the tone for the meeting by expressing deep gratitude for all that Yugal, Diksha, and Arti do.
“I truly appreciate each of you. The work you do every day makes an impact—not just within IT By Design, but across the entire MSP community.”
Because at ITBD, we aren’t just building a business—we’re building a movement. A culture where growth isn’t just a corporate value; it’s a way of life. Our conversation was a resounding echo of this powerful truth!
Culture is More Than Just a Buzzword
I threw out a simple question to the team:
“If you had to describe ITBD’s culture in one word, what would it be?”
Yugal thought for a moment. “Friendly,” he finally said. “It’s a place where people genuinely care. Whether it’s work or personal growth, you never feel alone.”
Diksha, who started as a system administrator and worked her way up, had three words: Innovation. Collaboration. Growth.
Arti, a senior system administrator, smiled and said, “Supportive.”
“You see,” I said, “when we are friendly, innovative, and supportive, we create something special. A culture where people thrive, not just survive.”
The Lessons That Shape Us
Then, I asked something deeper:
“What are the top three life lessons you’ve learned since joining ITBD?”
Arti went first, emphasizing the importance of balance. “Burnout is real,” she said. “Success is nothing without your health.” She spoke about the power of challenging the status quo, reminding us that the best ideas come from those who dare to ask, “Why not?” And when it comes to failure, she sees it not as an endpoint but as a stepping-stone to something greater.
Diksha followed, reinforcing that lifelong learning is the secret to success. “The IT world changes fast—staying still isn’t an option,” she said. For her, relationships are just as crucial as skills. “You can be the best at your job, but without strong connections, growth is limited.” And through it all, resilience is everything. “Setbacks will come, but how you respond defines your future.”
Yugal shared that concentrating on the process rather than just the result leads to true growth. “The journey matters just as much as the destination.” For him, success is about making an impact rather than just achieving personal goals. “True success is measured by the difference you make.” Above all, he is an advocate of flexibility. “The only constant in life is change—embrace it.”
I nodded in affirmation. This is what makes ITBD different. We just don’t hire people to work, we cultivate the best in people.
A Culture That Creates Leaders
At ITBD, we don’t just build a business—we build leaders. We nurture growth at every level, pushing people beyond their comfort zones. Because success here isn’t about climbing a ladder alone—it’s about growing together.
And that’s the culture I’m most proud of.
Because when people grow, businesses grow. And that’s the IT By Design way.
