Culture, Grit & Growth - Anamika & Gagan’s ITBD Story

Culture, Careers & Lessons That Stay with You: A Conversation with Anamika & Gagan

How many times do you have a conversation where time seems to fly and it creates a memory forever etched in your mind? Very rarely, correct?

I had the fortune of immersing myself in one such conversation with two of my treasured individuals: Gagan and Anamika. Categorizing them as mere employees would be a grave injustice to the transformational impact they foster in IT By Design.

From Virtual Beginnings to Global Impact: Anamika’s Story

When I asked Anamika about her journey, her response was as motivating as it was eye-opening. Having joined us during the height of the pandemic, in April 2021, as a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner, Anamika started off supporting India hiring—and quickly expanded her scope to include the Philippines and U.S. recruitment. Today, she’s spearheading leadership hiring across all regions.

What was truly captivating was how seamlessly she turned challenge into purpose. Despite starting remotely, she became a cultural bridge—connecting talent across borders with the same warmth and intent. She called ITBD a place of equality, collaboration, and empowerment. Her words? “It’s not just IT By Design—it’s Family By Design.”

A moment—and message—I’ll carry with me.

Learning That Leads: Gagan’s Impact in Action

Gagan’s story was equally compelling. He started as a V&A trainer and today contributes as a Manager in Learning and Development. His energy, especially in programs like TCW Fridays and Unique Ability sessions, has shaped the leadership growth of so many around him. He shared something powerful: “What makes this journey special is working with leaders who see learning as an investment, not a cost.” And I couldn’t agree more: The mindset is the secret mantra behind our L&D success, indeed.

The conversation progressed to my favorite part: life lessons learnt in IT By Design.

Let’s revisit what Anamika and Gagan had to say!

Lessons That Shape Leaders

Anamika’s three life lessons were simple, yet timeless:

  • Be persistent. Life will knock you down—but it’s about getting up, every time.
  • Stay humble. Gratitude isn’t just a value—it’s a lifestyle.
  • Keep learning. Because once you stop, you stop growing.

 Gagan’s reflections resonated deeply too:

  • Dare to Decide. He said it with a smile: “Choose or lose.” I loved the rhyme and the truth behind it.
  • Stay True to Yourself. Authenticity outlasts everything.
  • Reckon with Adversity. “Fail five times but rise the sixth”—that’s where true leadership begins.

These are insights that are realized with sheer hard work, unwavering dedication, and conquering insurmountable challenges.

Defining the Culture at IT By Design

When I asked Anamika and Gagan to describe ITBD’s culture in just a few words, their responses were consistent and meaningful: nurturing, empowering, and equal. And in those words, the essence of our workplace truly came to life.

At IT By Design, we believe that culture isn’t defined by hierarchy, but by humanity.
We don’t just assemble teams—we cultivate trust.
And we don’t offer opportunities for growth in isolation; we foster a deep sense of belonging.

It’s reassuring that our efforts to cultivate a positive work culture have percolated deep within IT By Design. And it’s why, for so many of us, ITBD doesn’t just feel like a workplace—it feels like home.

Final Thoughts: Leadership Is Shared

I always say: The best leaders aren’t just delivering impact—they’re multiplying it. And both Anamika and Gagan do exactly that.

Thank you, Anamika and Gagan, for being guardians of our culture and representatives of our beliefs. Your experiences are not merely tales of triumph; they are examples of what may be achieved when appreciation and personal development coexist.

To our wider ITBD community: Let’s keep learning from each other. Let’s keep growing together. And let’s never forget—the culture we build is the legacy we leave.
