Chandigarh, India – June 8, 2021 – IT By Design (ITBD), a market leader for providing engineering talent to IT service providers, today announced an employee vaccination policy. The policy is aimed at supporting the safety and well-being of its employee from the ongoing pandemic. Under this policy, the company will cover the COVID-19 vaccination cost for all its employees and immediate family members. The leadership has urged all employees to register themselves for vaccination through the CoWIN and Aarogya Setu platforms, an Indian COVID–19 “contact tracing, syndromic mapping and self-assessment” digital service, and to follow the mandated process.
“The COVID-19 situation in India is changing very rapidly. As an organization, we are taking proactive steps and providing additional resources to ensure the safety of the entire ITBD community. The rollout of the employee vaccination program is to reiterate our belief in Wellness before Business, and underscore our commitment towards our employees’ health and safety,” said Sukhjinder Singh, Director, IT By Design, India.
In recent times, IT By Design announced several initiatives under its COVID response plan including increasing the medical coverage threshold for all employees, issuing advanced salary for COVID-affected employees, providing extra time off via COVID-specific leaves, and partnering with local healthcare facilities for vaccination drives across Chandigarh and Delhi-NCR. Additionally, the company has sourced home medical equipment such as oxygen concentrators from the USA for its employees and their families in a bid to assuage any difficulties they may face in case of a medical emergency.
As Covid cases continue to spiral across the country, ITBD is also making the effort to help employees as much through a 24×7 dedicated COVID helpline. The company has set up an emergency response team and a 24×7 helpline with SOS information on doctors, ambulance services, medical insurance, and oxygen supplies. This contingency team is working round the clock to provide support to employees, from arranging oxygen support to finding hospital beds in case of urgency.
“We are putting our best foot forward to help our community members from India weather the second wave of the coronavirus safely, especially at a time when there is a critical shortage of oxygen cylinders and ventilator support for patients affected with COVID-19. We have set up internal teams who regularly follow up with employees who have tested positive. We are actively tracking the health of our employees and assisting them in every way possible,” concludes Sukhjinder Singh.
The ITBD leadership is currently monitoring all COVID-19 notifications from the Indian Govt to continue improving the response program. To minimize the risk of transmission, all ITBD offices across India are closed till December 2021.
