In the latest episode of the “Culture and Career Corner” podcast, hosted by IT By Design CEO Sunny Kaila, were treat you to a lively and insightful discussion with Addy Kumar, Subject Matter Expert; Nidhi Sharma, Voice & Accent Trainer; and Vatsal Dubey, Full Stack Lead – Team GPS. 

The trio shared their journeys at IT By Design, the company’s unique culture, and invaluable life lessons that have shaped their careers. 

A Journey of Growth and Learning 

Addy Kumar kicked off the conversation with a heartfelt recount of his journey with IT By Design, which began in 2018. Starting as a NOC engineer fresh out of the gate, Addy’s path has been a rollercoaster of emotions and learning experiences. Now leading the backup team, Addy expressed his gratitude for being part of a community that fosters growth and support. 

Vatsal Dubey’s story added another layer of inspiration. Joining IT By Design in 2021, during the challenging times of the pandemic, Vatsal became a founding member of the development team. He cherished the opportunity to build the team and take on leadership roles. The “Coffee with Community” sessions became a cornerstone of his experience, reflecting the culture that intrigued and motivated him. 

Nidhi Sharma, who started her journey in 2022, shared her passion for learning and development. As a key member of the team, she has been instrumental in enhancing communication skills and leading various training sessions. Her dedication to improving customer experience and personal growth resonated deeply with her role at IT By Design. 

The Essence of IT By Design’s Culture 

Diving into the culture at IT By Design, each guest painted a vivid picture of what makes the organization unique. 

For Nidhi Sharma, ITBD’s culture is synonymous with belonging and psychological safety. The values of humility and passion struck a chord with her, both professionally and personally. She expressed her joy in being part of a community that aligns with her values and passion. 

Addy Kumar highlighted the supportive and collaborative environment where team members help each other achieve common goals. He identified humility and positivity as core values that resonate with his own beliefs. 

Vatsal Dubey emphasized the importance of open communication and respect for diverse perspectives at ITBD. He praised the culture for prioritizing employee development and well-being. The daily practice of speaking straight and dealing directly, a cultural hallmark, fosters transparency and honesty, making ITBD a standout place to work. 

Life Lessons for Personal and Professional Growth 

Vatsal Dubey passionately spoke about lifelong learning, inspired by the book “Ikigai.” He advocated for focusing on the process rather than rigid goals and not shying away from chaos or disruption. Vatsal’s mantra is to seize opportunities during challenging times, like the IT boom during COVID-19, and always strive for better, faster, and cheaper solutions. 

Addy Kumar talked about the importance of patience, humility and dedication. He believed that maintaining patience in tough situations and being humble towards everyone are crucial for success. Addy’s never-give-up attitude and commitment to growth have been key drivers in his career. 

Nidhi Sharma shared three powerful lessons: never compare your journey with others, focus on gains rather than gaps, and practice an attitude of gratitude. She emphasized the importance of being the best version of oneself and learning from every experience. Nidhi also stressed the value of humility and the courage to speak straight, standing up for one’s values and beliefs.
