Talent Talk with Sunny and Friends - 5

Discovering the Heart of IT By Design Philippines Team

In the latest episode of the Culture and Career Corner podcast, IT By Design CEO Sunny Kaila welcomed three outstanding System Engineers from IT By Design (ITBD) Philippines—Charielle Cruz, Ramon Reyes and Kurt Macapugas. This lively discussion delved into their experiences, insights and the vibrant culture of ITBD Philippines office.

A Warm Welcome and Personal Introductions

The episode began with Sunny warmly welcoming the team. Charielle introduced herself. She holds a degree in Business Administration, majoring in Operations Management. Charielle talked about her passion for public service, traveling, and learning. Her words painted a clear picture of her dedication to both personal and professional growth.

Kurt recalled his early days at IT By Design, describing the initial setup of the BGC office and his excitement at being among the first to work in the new space. Ramon, who joined the team in March, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of IT By Design and his ambition to advance to a technical leadership role.

Embracing IT By Design’s Unique Culture

When asked about ITBD’s culture, Charielle described it as a “second family” where growth and positivity are integral. She likened the team to a car that functions best when all its parts work in harmony, emphasizing the supportive and cheerful atmosphere.

Kurt likened the work culture to a growing kid, full of new tools, knowledge and friendships. For him, ITBD is a place of exploration and learning.

Ramon highlighted the professionalism and passion of the team, appreciating how the company supports showcasing diverse talents. He emphasized the joy and dedication that pervades the workplace, creating an environment where employees can express themselves through various activities, from dancing to singing.

Valuable Lessons Learned

The conversation turned to personal growth and life lessons. Charielle shared her philosophy of “creating a package of yourself” by recognizing strengths, seeking feedback and continuously improving. She also spoke about the importance of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and sharing progress rather than just goals.

Kurt reflected on a valuable lesson from ITBD’s “Life by Design” philosophy: being early is being on time. This principle has helped him manage his tasks effectively and stay organized.

Ramon’s top lessons included embracing failure as a stepping stone to success, practicing daily gratitude to maintain a positive mindset and investing in meaningful relationships. These insights highlighted the importance of resilience, appreciation and connectivity in both personal and professional life.

Showcasing Talents and Fun Moments

The episode wasn’t short of entertainment. Ramon encouraged Charielle to showcase her singing talent, and she beautifully performed a part of “True Colors,” capturing the essence of self-expression and authenticity. Sunny joined in with a dance move, adding a touch of fun and camaraderie to the show.

Conclusion

The latest episode of Culture and Career Corner provided a heartfelt glimpse into the lives of IT By Design’s Philippine team. Charielle, Ramon and Kurt shared their experiences, lessons and the vibrant culture that makes IT By Design a supportive workplace.
